Blind Spot Monitor

The blind spot monitor is a vehicle-based sensor device that detects other vehicles located to the driver’s side and rear. Warnings can be visual, audible, vibrating, or tactile.

However, blind spot monitors are an option that may do more than monitor the sides and rear of the vehicle. They may also include “Cross Traffic Alert”, “which alerts drivers backing out of a parking space when traffic is approaching from the sides.

Adaptive CruseControl

Available on select Ford vehicles is a series of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) features employing advanced radar and camera technology.ACC lets you set a cruising speed and distance from the vehicle ahead of you. When it slows down, you automatically do too; when traffic picks back up, you resume your preset speed and distance. Then comes ACC with Stop-and-Go, which enables you to come to a complete stop when the vehicle ahead stops.* Now add Lane Centering, which scans the lane markings to help you stay in your lane if the system detects you’re drifting out of it. And that’s not all. Now there’s Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, which includes all of these features plus new Speed Sign Recognition that can automatically adjust the set speed of your vehicle to the posted speed limit.

Emergency Breaking

Inattentiveness when driving can have serious consequences. To reduce the risk of a rear-end or turn collision or to mitigate their consequences, Bosch has developed the automatic emergency braking. Being active when the vehicle is started, it supports the driver at all speeds – by day and by night. However, the driver still has to be attentive and drive carefully at all times.

Pedestrian Detection

Pedestrians are particularly at risk in traffic. In most accidents, the pedestrian collides with the front of the vehicle. Legal requirements and consumer protection tests for pedestrian protection have become significantly stricter in recent years. This presents significant challenges for sensor equipment, which must reliably detect an impact between the vehicle and a pedestrian. Bosch’s electronic system for active impact protection for pedestrians is a safe and cost-effective solution, which fulfils the legal requirements for pedestrian protection on vehicles. only

Cross Traffic Alert

Backing out of a parking space at right angles to the road can often be a challenge – especially when the driver’s view on the traffic passing at right angles behind his/her own vehicle is blocked by obstacles. Rear cross traffic alert can make backing out of parking spaces easier by warning of crossing vehicles when getting out of a parking space.
